1-Minute Talk for new migrants

A 1-minute talk is a timed speech that lasts for 60 seconds. It is a great opportunity to demonstrate leadership and public speaking skills.

A 1-minute talk is an impromptu speech where you don’t get the opportunity to prepare in advance. You should practice 1-minute talks because it will help you build confidence, think faster and speak English faster.

Choose a topic and talk for 1 minute. You cannot use excessive filler words such as um, er, ah etc.

  5. My favourite subject at school.

  7. My favourite city in Australia.

  14. My dream job.
  15. The music I like to listen to.
  16. Something I’m scared of.
  17. Someone I admire.
  18. 3 Countries I would like to visit.
  19. 3 things I do for fun.
  20. What next after completing my English course?
  21. Facebook, Instagram or TikTok?
  22. Your close friend(s).
  23. Something I want to learn.
  24. The best time I’ve ever had.
  25. If you could travel back in time, which part of your life would you go back to?
